Who we are

One accountable partner for the whole technology estate

Define IT brings infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, connectivity, managed services and digital solutions together under one accountable technology partner.

Define IT Solution has been providing IT services to private and public sector organisations in South Africa since 2016. We started in managed services and software development, and have built outwards into the infrastructure, cloud, security and connectivity capabilities that clients kept asking us to take responsibility for.

The model is deliberately broad because the problems are. A slow application is rarely just an application problem, and a security incident is rarely just a security problem. Owning the whole picture means we can fix the actual cause rather than escalate between suppliers.

Since 2016

Serving private and public sector clients in South Africa.

Managed & co-managed

Take the whole IT function, or work alongside the team you already have.

One agreement

Infrastructure, cloud, security, connectivity and applications under a single point of accountability.

Solutions

What we take responsibility for

Eight practices that cover the estate end to end. Most engagements start with one and grow from there.

Managed IT Services

Become your IT department, or take the load off the one you have. Service desk, monitoring, patching and lifecycle under a defined SLA.

Explore

Cloud Services

Azure and Microsoft 365 designed around your workloads, with a cost model and identity structure that hold up after go-live.

Explore

Cybersecurity

A defensible baseline first, then detection, monitoring and response — with governance that supports POPIA obligations.

Explore

Enterprise Infrastructure

Compute, storage and virtualisation sized for real utilisation, with a refresh plan you can budget against.

Explore

Networking

LAN, WAN, wireless and SD-WAN designed as a structured architecture, monitored and documented.

Explore

Microsoft Solutions

Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server and Intune configured properly — usually using licences you already own.

Explore

Backup & Disaster Recovery

Protection designed to agreed recovery targets, with immutable copies and restores that have actually been tested.

Explore

Digital Solutions

Custom software, integration and automation for the processes that genuinely make you different.

Explore

Managed services

Your IT. Managed. Secured. Available.

Five things we do continuously, so that the environment stays in a state where nothing needs heroics.

Monitor

Continuous visibility across servers, network, endpoints, backups and cloud services, with tuned alerting.

Manage

Patching, configuration, licensing, assets and vendors — handled on a schedule rather than on request.

Secure

Identity controls, endpoint protection, email security and remediation of the exposures that matter most.

Support

A service desk with agreed response targets, resolving remotely first and attending onsite when needed.

Optimise

Service reviews covering trends, capacity, cost and risk, feeding a roadmap you can plan against.

Business outcomes

What the technology is actually for

Products are the means. These are the results engagements get judged on.

01

Reduce IT downtime

Monitoring, preventative maintenance and resilient design so faults are caught early and contained.

02

Improve cybersecurity

A measured baseline, prioritised remediation and continuous monitoring rather than a product purchase.

03

Modernise infrastructure

A refresh and migration path with cost and risk stated, on a schedule you control.

04

Control IT costs

Licensing reviews, cloud cost optimisation and lifecycle planning that make spend visible and predictable.

05

Improve productivity

Standardised devices, faster support and collaboration tools that work the way people already work.

06

Increase visibility

Documented environments, asset registers and reporting so decisions rest on data, not recollection.

07

Strengthen compliance

Access control, logging, retention and evidence that support POPIA obligations and internal audit.

08

Improve resilience

Backup, replication and recovery designed to agreed objectives — and tested against them.

Why Define IT

Reasons that hold up in a procurement conversation

No awards, no invented statistics. These are the working characteristics clients tell us make the difference.

One technology partner

Infrastructure, cloud, security, connectivity and applications under one agreement and one escalation path, instead of five suppliers pointing at each other.

Enterprise depth, direct access

The technical depth to support a large multi-site environment, without the layers you have to get through to reach someone who can actually help.

Flexible service models

Fully managed, co-managed, project-based or advisory. The model follows what you need, not what is easiest to sell.

Vendor-agnostic by preference

We recommend against products, including our own suggestions, when the fit is wrong. Independence is more useful to you than alignment.

Security-first thinking

Security is designed into infrastructure, cloud and application work from the start rather than added as a separate line item.

Local expertise

A South African business supporting South African organisations, familiar with local connectivity, procurement and regulatory realities.

Scalable delivery

Engagements that start small — an assessment, a single site — and extend as the relationship earns it.

Business outcome focused

We are measured on downtime, risk, cost and user experience, not on the number of tickets closed.

Industries

Sectors we work in

The underlying technology overlaps. The constraints, compliance requirements and operating hours do not.

Government & public sector

Structured procurement, documented compliance and support models that work across dispersed sites.

Financial services

Access control, audit evidence, resilience and data protection under regulatory scrutiny.

Property & facilities

Multi-building connectivity, access systems and small distributed IT footprints.

Healthcare

Patient data protection, high availability and support for clinical operating hours.

Education

Campus networks, dense wireless, student and staff identity, and constrained budgets.

Retail & logistics

Branch connectivity, point-of-sale uptime and warehouse wireless coverage.

Technology ecosystem

Technology built on trusted platforms

Our solutions bring together established enterprise technologies across infrastructure, cloud, networking, cybersecurity, data protection and collaboration.

Next step

Let's define what your technology should be doing.

Tell us what is not working, what is coming up, or what you are being asked to deliver. We will come back with a considered view — not a generic proposal.
